About us
Intrepid Auckland Walking Adventures is for active people who want to participate in walks and bush hikes around the Auckland area as well as other activities from time to time. We currently have walks available on a Wednesday evening & Saturday morning most weeks. These will be in different areas of Auckland, depending on who is leading the walk. We like to keep our groups small (20 -25 people) as this is a better experience for everyone.
Please feel free to suggest something you'd like to do in your part of town and co-lead an activity or start a regular weekday walk in your area.
We are looking forward to meeting you on our walks!
Regards
The Intrepid Leadership Team.

New Te Waihorotiu train station walk ..........
Waitemata Train Station entrance - Commercial Bay side, Te Komititanga, Auckland, NZMeeting at 9.30 at Waitemata/Britomart station entrance - Commercial Bay side ready to explore our wonderful downtown including visiting the new Te Waihorotiu train station.
https://www.facebook.com/share/v/19JX7AynNe/Tickets give you free public transport to the CBD and home. You just need to show your ticket. (If you intend to use public transport let me know and I will send you a scan of your ticket.)
Parking may be difficult in the city but there may be some street parking near Upper Queen St but it could be busy with the train station open day. I expect more information may be shared over the next few days. Public transport would be the easiest way to get there.
Approx. 4 hours including a look through the new Te Waihorotiu train station. (We have several tickets already for the midday session this time😊)
Approx 8km with some stairs and hills, the stations and parts of the city including a market early on where you may wish to collect something for lunch and after the station there is plenty of entertainment going on back at Aotea Square. If anyone stays behind we might do a wee ice cream stop on the way back to the train station for your journey home.
Mainly footpaths, passing through parks and alleys. Please note bags will be searched at the station entrance so recommend bringing as little as possible however still bring what you need to be safe and comfortable (ie warm layers, water and snacks etc). Water bottles need to be clear so either a plastic bottle or glass bottle. Food and water bottles may need to be left at the entrance to the station but we can loop back to get them.
Across the CRL 29 giant screens are being fitted out ahead of opening on September 13, helping to generate revenue that supports Auckland's public transport network. This is a time lapse of Te Waihorotiu station. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/18csMET3Tn/
There are toilets at both train stations and around the area.
***Please note that we request a gold coin donation for participation in order to cover some of the costs incurred by the leaders for their organisation. This will go towards outdoor magazine subscriptions, safety equipment (eg PLB) and the website costs etc***Group members have indicated that they like to walk in a smaller group with a preferred maximum of 25. Therefore the limit on our walks will remain at 25. Thank you for your understanding :-)
