A sense of adventure is required for this walk - there are parts where damage has yet to be repaired however the locals have created very well worn paths though the area.

You need to be sure footed as parts of the path are yet to be rectified so it's not the usual relatively flat path it used to be. Poles could be helpful (having said that I have done my explores to date without my poles!)
As it is still coastal there is a LOT OF UP AND DOWN AND STAIRS!

The toilet may or may not be in working order as I have discovered in the past...........

Meeting Point: The walkway entrance nr 348 Hillsborough Road
Distance: Approximately 8km
Duration: 2 hrs depending on walking pace of the group
Difficulty: Will get your heart pumping! Good walking fitness is required as there are some steep sections and parts of paths which will require sure footed navigation.

What to wear and bring: Good walking shoes, water! Poles if you find them helpful.
***If you are allergic to grass I would also recommend bringing antihistamines (or even taking them prior) as some of the tracks are not well maintained and you will most likely come into contact with long grasses***

Please note we request a gold coin donation for participation in order to cover some of the costs incurred by the leaders for their organisation. Items such as outdoor magazine subscriptions, safety equipment (eg PLB) and the website costs etc.
Our Intrepid bank account is 06-0996-0609501-04 if you want to transfer money for the gold coin donation. (Use your meetup name as a reference.)

Group members have indicated that they like to walk in a smaller group. At this stage the limit on our walks will be 25. Please be courteous to other members - if you are no longer able to attend remove your name sooner rather than later in fairness to give others notice to be able to prepare to attend.

We will leave on time in fairness to the whole group. Arriving early is good. 6.30 is the time we leave not the time to arrive.
