It’s spooky season, and we’re bringing the Halloween vibes into our October meetup! 🕸️ Whether you’re here for the coding tricks, the sweet treats, or just to hang out with fellow Swifties, this month’s event promises a fun mix of learning, sharing, and community.

  • NFC in iOS
    Explore how CoreNFC brings NFC functionality to iOS applications. We will cover key features such as reading and writing NDEF tags, background tag scanning, as well as interacting with other NFC tags.

  • Developing Apple Vision Pro applications with Apple immersive videos: Insights from an interdisciplinary course at NUS
    Apple Immersive Video is a new media format that leverages 3D video recorded in 8K with a 180-degree field of view and Spatial Audio to be viewed by users on Apple Vision Pro. In this talk, Assistant Professor Gabriel Lipkowitz will describe new workflows for capturing, integrating, and visualizing this qualitatively new form of media for head-mounted displays. He will include a tutorial walkthrough of DaVinci Resolve Studio and Swift integration into an example Xcode project with visionOS. He will use as examples his undergraduate students’ work at NUS in the course Spatial Computing: Design and Development, which made use of the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive to capture content for, in this case, healthcare applications in a variety of settings.
