What we're about

This group is for professionals and enthusiasts in the Internet of Things (IoT). We welcome those who want to learn about this emerging field which is fascinating as IoT makes use of a diverse range of technologies and has the promise to impact a vast number of vertical markets. We hold regular events which focus on the intersection of IoT and a vertical, such as Healthcare, Transportation, Smart Homes, Smart Cities, Wearables, etc., or the intersection of IoT and a horizontal, such as IoT Security, IoT Platforms, etc. Our meetups are an excellent way to network with experts and others working in the field.

IoT Nation's mission is to inspire, engage, and connect entrepreneurs, investors, professionals, & enthusiasts worldwide who are active in the Internet of Things (IoT).

We look forward to seeing you at a future event!

Partner Webinar: Security for Cellular IoT: SIM Will Not Protect You!

DATE/TIME: April 24, 2019 at 11 AM EDT / 8 AM PDT REGISTER: http://bit.ly/iotn_intrinsicid201904 Billions of devices are connected to the Internet of Things, through connectivity standards which differ in range and spectrum (e.g. 2G/3G/4G/5G, NB-IoT, CAT-M, LoRa, SigFox, etc.). One thing they all have in common: merely upholding a standard does not ensure security. Even when using widely accepted methods, such as the SIM card in cellular IoT, there is no guarantee of true end-to-end security. This leaves data vulnerable to eavesdropping and alteration at different points from edge to cloud, exposing valuable assets in market segments using these cellular connections, like Industrial IoT, critical infrastructures, automotive and wearables. In this webinar, chip vendors, connectivity module makers and IoT device manufacturers will see how to set their products apart by leveraging Intrinsic ID’s fit-for-purpose IoT security in their product portfolio. SPEAKER BIO: Vincent van der Leest is Director Product Marketing at Intrinsic ID. In his 9-year tenure at Intrinsic ID, Vincent’s roles within the organization have included business development and managing the company’s portfolio of European-funded projects. Vincent is author or co-author of a number of scientific papers on Intrinsic ID’s core technology, as well as several of the company’s patents. He holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology and worked for ASML and Philips before joining Intrinsic ID.
