IoT Cloud Infrastructure Beyond The Boundaries of Data Centers

Abstract:
With the continued exponential growth in the deployment of IoT devices, the total devices will pretty soon far outnumber the Mobile and Desktop devices. Proportionally 50B IoT Devices vs 7B Web/Mobile devices. Alongside, recent advances in IoT software tools and platforms are enabling to create an infrastructure in which the traditional boundaries of the cloud are blurred and extended out to potentially millions of endpoints. Key to achieving that “cloud extension” is the ability to rapidly establish the foundational underpinnings for a robust IoT infrastructure, without a need to instantiate a Virtual Machine, assimilate multiple opensource programs, such as MQTT broker, Device Mgr, OTA update manger etc.

This session covers a simple “1-Click” IOT solution in the cloud - removing all the bring-up complexity and enabling application developers to focus on business logic. It provides:

• Device onboarding and subsequent lifecycle management
• MQTT & secure-MQTT traffic ingestion and normalization
• User authentication
• Drag-and-drop flow processing for ingested data streams
• Alerts and notifications
• Data visualization

Speaker Bio:
Ravi Medikonda is the founding CEO of Vitapointz (http://vitalpointz.io), a 2-year old startup focused on IOT developer tools & platform. Before Vitalpointz, Ravi was the Vice President &General Manager of Analytics Business Unit at Brocade Communications. He was the founding CEO of Vistapointe Networks, a Mobile Analytics startup and successfully drove the product and market strategy that culminated the acquisition of Vistapointe by Brocade communications in 2014. Prior to that he held product & technology leadership roles at Juniper Networks, Tellabs business unit, Ericsson and Calix.
