Iowa City Area Real Estate Investor Meetup: Online Q and A With Investors

In order to take advantage of some of our more experienced members we needed to change the date of our February meeting. It will be online only via Zoom on Wednesday, February 12 at 7 pm. RSVP in order to get full login information. We will also try to get the information into the member bulletin board before the time of the meeting.
The meeting will be a Q and A and a panel discussion designed to get to know the businesses and the views on investing in this market and elsewhere in the country by a panel of experienced investors and lenders.
We will be interviewing Shawn Frederick and John Powers who have been investing in tax liens in several states for the past mahy years. They have also done some private lending and participated in some private investment opportunities. They have on many occasions taken ownership of property they have obtained through the tax lien process and have had lots of experience either wholesaling or fixing and flipping these properties. In many cases they have had other types of property besides houses to offload. They have many interesting stories to tell about their business model and observances to share with others who want to get into this investing niche.
We will also be interviewing one of our newest members, Mason Jacobs, and welcoming back his associate from J&M Business Capital, Michael Corrigan, who plans to be in the Cedar Rapids area the week of Feb 9. Michael shared information about his lending business for real estate investors a few months ago. We hope to expand on that topic and find out more about what he and Mason are seeing in other markets, as well as our own and provide insights on how investors can best maximize their return in our current investing environment. Mason has most recently been investing in the Kansas City market and may have some insights as to how that market and the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City market differ.
It should be an interesting session for everyone who attends!
