What we’re about
When I lived in New York, I spent all my weekends on the beach at a share house in Fire Island. The same friends, cooking, eating and drinking together. I looked forward to each weekend, leaving work at 5pm Friday and taking the last ferry Sunday night back to NYC.
There are so many lakes and reservoirs within 5 hours of Salt Lake City. This is a meetup for singles (and couples) who want to camp with beer and wine, and maybe a few margaritas, but aren't going to stay up all night blaring music. If you dream of going to Lake Powell and renting a houseboat with adults only - no kids - this is the group for you. If you like Bear Lake but wish it had more bars and restaurants, this is the group for you. If you want to explore Flaming Gorge and other places to camp near water, this is the group for you. If you love water skiing and/or wake boarding, or want to learn, this is the group for you. We are going to get together in Salt Lake City (at bars) to meet and plan overnight trips (mostly weekends). As many trips as possible will be near water for water skiing and wake boarding, and maybe windsurfing and kite surfing.
This group might get a little irreverent. Camping is boring with people who won't talk about religion or politics. So if you can't handle talking about current events, or refuse to see Saturday's Voyeur because it's too racy for you, don't join this group. If your (future) wife isn't allowed to have credit cards or make financial decisions on her own, there are probably better groups for you in Utah. If you're a woman and you whisper at work instead of speaking confidently, this group probably isn't the best group for you - unless you need a team of new friends to help liberate you. If you say Oh My Word instead of F&#k you can still come, but we will throw beer at you until you break the habit. If you're still reading this, and not praying for our souls, please join us.
