What we’re about
London Communicators is one of London's most established Toastmaster's Clubs. We have been running since 1998 and we have helped hundreds of people learn how to speak in public, conquer their fears, develop their leadership skills and yes, have fun on a Monday evening!
Becoming a good speaker does not happen by chance, it happens when you make an active decision to commit to developing one of life's most feared but rewarding skills.
Picture it now: you are calm, confident, you are being yourself and you are enjoying the experience of commanding the stage and the attention of your audience. Does that seem like a million miles off right now? Well, let us help you to make this happen!
We will get you up and speaking right away and we will give you positive feedback so that next time, you'll be even better. We will get you on a program of ten speeches, each one designed to address one particular skill and building on what you learned before.
There is only one way to improve your speaking skills and that is to do it! The more you do it, the more you de-sensitise yourself to any perceived fear. After a while, you'll love it and you will begin to communicate in front of an audience the way you do with friends on a one-to-one basis.
This is all possible - you just have to take that first step and we'll be alongside you for the rest of the journey.
We look forward to seeing you at our club!
Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Practice public speaking with us - London CommunicatorsThe Island Queen, London
* We have a new home: Island Queen, 87 Noel Road, N1 8HD *
Come along to one of our regular Toastmasters club meetings and be our guest! There's nothing like experiencing (and participating in) public speaking first hand - and our friendly club meetings provide fertile ground for developing these skills in a fun and supportive environment. Learning by doing really is the best way to learn!
At every meeting, guests have the opportunity to practice their impromptu speaking. Everyone gets evaluated so even as a guest you will get immediate and positive feedback and will also learn from the feedback given to others. As a member of the audience you have the opportunity to witness our club members deliver their prepared speeches and their evaluations will provide precious tricks and tips to take home.
Many of us started out a little unsure about public speaking, but now we enjoy doing it and sharing the learning experience with new members.
Whether it is for work, a special occasion or just because you want to get better at one of the most daunting but rewarding skills you'll ever learn in your life, come along and see what we do.
Come once, or several times - everyone is always welcome! And if you want more of a challenge we are always happy to welcome new club members who want to join us on the Toastmasters journey.
It's a great place to learn, meet new people and have fun!
