What we’re about
Hello! We are Islington Poets, an independent stanza under The Poetry Society.
We meet once a month for a poetry workshop. Each writer brings copies of the work they are seeking feedback on — be it a traditional poem or prose poem — reads it aloud to the group and, depending on numbers, can expect 4-6 mins of live feedback. We circulate final numbers so you know how many copies to bring ahead of time. Join us a little earlier for a few pints, or stay after for the same!
We're an incredibly friendly bunch! You don't need to be a previously published poet to join us, though that's brilliant if you are! Anyone is welcome. We do, however, welcome constructive criticism so if you're a bit sensitive or have never shared your work before do let us know and our members will take that into consideration when providing feedback.
