Farewell Picnic | Last Meetup of 2026!

We're closing out the year the chill way: a picnic at Shelby Park! Come hang out with us at the Riverview Picnic Pavilion for our last meetup of 2026.

We'll bring the food, drinks, games and crafts. You just bring yourself and your good vibes. No agenda, no talks, no pressure. It's a laid-back afternoon to catch up with the friends you've made this year, meet a few new ones, and give 2026 a proper send-off before we take a little winter breather.

Remember, everyone is welcome: engineers, designers, PMs, analysts, support folks, students, and the tech-curious.

FAQ

• I'm non-binary, trans, and/or queer. Am I welcome at this event?

YES! If you've taken a look at our organization and you identify with us, then we welcome you with open arms. Come join our crew.

• I'm a man, can I attend your event?

We'd like to keep our meetups for women and women-identifying members as much as we can, so we ask that you skip this one. BUT we're planning Ally events and an Ally channel in NashDev so we can include more people in what we're doing. Stay tuned!

• Will there be food?

Yes! We'll bring food, snacks, and drinks. If you have a dietary need, let us know and we'll plan for it.

• Can I bring my kids?

Yes! It's a park, so bring them along. Kids are welcome to join in on the games and crafts. Just keep in mind there's no dedicated childcare at this one, so they'll be hanging out with you.

• Can I bring my dog?

Yes, well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome!

• Is the venue ADA accessible?

Yes! The pavilion is close to parking and reachable by paved path. Let an organizer know if you need anything and we'll do what we can to make sure you're accommodated.

• What should I bring?

Just yourself! A camp chair or blanket is nice if you have one, plus a layer since it can get chilly this time of year. Bonus points if you want to bring a favorite game or snack to share, but it's not required.

• What if it rains?

The pavilion is covered, so a little drizzle won't stop us. If the weather looks rough, we'll message everyone who RSVP'd on Meetup the morning of.

• Where do I park?

There's free parking near the pavilion in Shelby Park. Look for the IT Girls crew under the pavilion!

• Can I come late or leave early?

Of course! Drop in whenever works for you. Even if you can only stop by for 30 minutes, we'd love to see you.
