Ciao e benvenuto/a! We are a very active group of Italophiles who wish to improve our proficiency in Italian, and welcome Italian language speakers to join us for conversation practice. We meet in person once per week, on Mondays. Please participate in one or two meetings to see if you like the group before joining. Our members range in conversational proficiency from beginner to native speaker.
We are friendly, patient, and we all help each other. However, it would be useful if you know some Italian grammar and can understand a bit of spoken Italian so that you can follow the conversation of others even if you don't feel comfortable speaking much at first.
Although we do not teach the language, we occasionally briefly review a grammar topic or read and translate a short selection in Italian. You may wish to use online tools, such as Duolingo, or take a beginning class in Italian to become familiar with the basics before joining our group.
So come and enjoy a relaxing and rewarding evening with an interesting, diverse group of enthusiastic people.
