Piero della Francesca Virtual Tour – Renaissance Master of Art and Geometry

    Online

REGISTRATION REQUIRED! Click here to register
He was not only a painter but also a mathematician, a true pioneer of the Renaissance. By combining geometry, proportion, and Humanist ideals, he created some of the most extraordinary religious works of the early Renaissance. Among them is the Resurrection, often described as the most beautiful painting in the world. His name? Piero della Francesca.
Even if you haven’t heard much about him, Piero’s influence on Renaissance art and culture is impossible to overlook. What set him apart was his reputation as much for his groundbreaking mathematical theories as for his paintings, a rare balance of science and art.
His vision was revolutionary: he used the precision of mathematics to build harmony and depth into his works, while infusing them with the grace of Humanism. The result was art that feels timeless—sacred yet strikingly modern in its clarity.
In the mid-15th century, especially during the flourishing decades of the 1460s and 70s, Piero worked at the court of Federico da Montefeltro in Urbino, one of the most vibrant cultural centers of the Renaissance. It was here that he created some of his greatest masterpieces, including the celebrated double portrait of the Duke and Duchess of Urbino and the enigmatic Flagellation, now displayed in world-renowned museums such as the Uffizi and the National Gallery of Marche.
Whether you’re passionate about Renaissance art or simply curious to discover one of history’s most fascinating figures, this journey will open the door to the world of Piero della Francesca—a man whose genius forever transformed the relationship between art, science, and beauty.

Venice Off the Beaten Path Virtual Walking Tour – The Jewish Ghetto

    Online

REGISTRATION REQUIRED! Click here to register

Step off the beaten path and discover one of Venice’s most fascinating and lesser-known districts: the Jewish Ghetto, the first of its kind in the world.
On this virtual stroll, we’ll wander through quiet campi and narrow alleyways where history, culture, and memory intertwine. You’ll hear the stories of how the Ghetto was created, learn curious details about daily life in the past, and notice symbols that only locals tend to recognize. We’ll also touch on the traces left by World War II and how they are remembered today.
From hidden synagogues to unique Venetian “skyscrapers,” from Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice to Napoleon’s symbolic gestures, every corner reveals something unexpected. And as we end, we’ll enjoy a glimpse of Cannaregio — a district beloved by Venetians for its authentic atmosphere of bridges, canals, and community life.
This tour is a journey through history, culture, and resilience, offering you a new perspective on Venice that goes far beyond its famous landmarks.
