Hello, we're It's a Date - a London-based speed dating and singles events company. We’re professional icebreakers; reviving London’s dating scene with feel-good events, in awesome venues, with fun and charismatic hosts.
Personal experience and our single friends have taught us that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to finding love. It’s why we set to work redesigning dating events, creating opportunities for you to express yourself authentically and meet like-minded singles.

Moments from Vauxhall and Nine Elms stations, and with the iconic Battersea Power Station in view, you’ll find The Alchemist—a chic, stylish, open-plan cocktail bar buzzing with a lively atmosphere and a Cosmopolitan crowd (pun intended).
Over 120+ single guests will gather here to make new connections in a naturally relaxed and vibrant setting. Our high-energy hosts provide the ultimate social glue, welcoming you with a complimentary drink (if you arrive before 20:00), introducing you to others, and ensuring you’re having a fantastic time mingling throughout the evening.
We kick things off at 19:30 when your host will be ready to greet you at the venue. If you’re unsure where to go, simply ask the friendly bar team. Once there, you’ll be shown to the exclusive event area, offered an optional name sticker, and guided on where to leave your jacket. When you’ve settled in, your host will make introductions and encourage group mingling to help you feel right at home.
Singles parties at The Alchemist are casual and relaxed—perfect for chatting with people who spark your interest without any pressure. With over 120+ attendees at every event, there’s plenty of time to connect with others, enjoy a drink or two, and soak up the lively atmosphere.
Throughout the night, your host will ensure everyone gets the chance to meet and make introductions if requested. To top things off, The Alchemists resident DJ will be providing the soundtrack to your evening until late.
After the event concludes, you can log into your online dashboard to leave feedback on the people you’ve met. Matches are created when two guests express mutual interest, giving you the chance to connect and message through our platform.

The spacious open-plan bar is a welcoming setting for this social evening, with a dedicated mezzanine level reserved exclusively for It’s a Date. You will have the chance to select a drink from the extensive bar menu, meet your friendly host, and get comfortable on the mezzanine before we begin. For those continuing into the night, you are in the heart of Soho, so the opportunities are endless!
Our host will be at the venue ready to welcome you at 19:30. Please arrive on time for registration, to grab any drinks from the bar, and receive a summary of how things will work. You will be given an optional name sticker, a pen, and a note card to keep track of everyone you’ve met.
Ladies will be seated on tables adequately spaced, discreetly numbered, and arranged in a comfortable area of the venue. When speed dating commences, gents will join ladies for 5-minute dates to get to know one another. Your host will notify all guests at the end of each date, signalling for gents to move to the next table in ascending numerical order.
During table rotations, you will have a moment to record on note cards your feelings towards the previous date and intention to reconnect, for your reference only.
Mid-way through the evening, your host will indicate a 15-minute comfort break to use the rest room, head to the bar, or socialise with new connections. Dating will then resume for the second half of the evening.
At the end of the speed dating the bar will remain open for more socialising. You can then access the event listing in your dashboard to enter feedback on dates and await your matches.
