Hello, we're It's a Date - a London-based speed dating and singles events company. We’re professional icebreakers; reviving London’s dating scene with feel-good events, in awesome venues, with fun and charismatic hosts.
Personal experience and our single friends have taught us that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to finding love. It’s why we set to work redesigning dating events, creating opportunities for you to express yourself authentically and meet like-minded singles.

Nestled in the shadow of St Paul’s Cathedral and just a 2-minute walk from St Paul’s tube station, The Happenstance is a stylish bar and lounge that sets the scene for a fun, friendly, and introduction-filled Friday night of new connections. Our popular end-of-week event takes place in a private area of the venue, creating a relaxed, comfortable, and sociable atmosphere—perfect for an evening of great company, with your host on hand to provide the social glue (and a complimentary drink!).
We kick things off at 19:30, when your host will be ready to greet you at the venue. If you’re unsure where to go, just ask the friendly bar team. Once you arrive, you’ll be shown to our private event area, offered an optional name sticker, and guided on where to leave your jacket. After you’ve settled in, your host will offer you a welcome drink and start making introductions to help you feel right at home.
Friday night parties at The Happenstance are casual and relaxed—perfect for chatting with people who spark your interest, without any pressure. With around 60 attendees, there’s plenty of opportunity to connect, enjoy a drink or two, and soak up the lively atmosphere.
Throughout the evening, your host will ensure everyone has the chance to meet, making special introductions when needed. A relaxed, smooth music selection provides the perfect soundtrack to your Friday night—ideal for keeping the energy high and conversations effortlessly flowing.
After the event concludes, you can log into your online dashboard to leave feedback on the people you’ve met. Matches are created when two guests express mutual interest, giving you the chance to connect and message through our platform.

Escape the ordinary at our popular Friday night speed dating event in the City. You will join 36 single guests in an intimate private space of this centrally located venue, just steps from Monument tube station. The Folly is a super-fun and lively environment with seasonal cocktails (we’d recommend the espresso martini), great service, and heaps of space to continue socialising after a busy evening of introductions.
Our host will be at the venue ready to welcome you at 19:30. Please arrive on time for registration, to grab any drinks from the bar, and receive a summary of how things will work. You will be given an optional name sticker, a pen, and note card to keep track of everyone you’ve met.
Ladies will be seated on tables adequately spaced, discreetly numbered, and arranged in a comfortable area of the venue. When speed dating commences, gents will join ladies for 5-minute dates to get to know one another. Your host will notify all guests at the end of each date, signalling for gents to move to the next table in ascending numerical order.
During table rotations you will have a moment to record on note cards your feelings towards the previous date and intention to reconnect, for your reference only.Mid-way through the evening, your host will indicate a 15-minute comfort break to use the rest room, head to the bar, or socialise with new connections. Dating will then resume for the second half of the evening.
At the end of the speed dating the bar will remain open for more socialising. You can then access the event listing in your dashboard to enter feedback on dates and await your matches.

Connect(4) with fun-loving, young-at-heart single players (ages 30–45) at a relaxed, board games-inspired evening.
Draughts is a super-fun concept bar located in the iconic Leake Street Graffiti tunnel just steps away from Waterloo Station. This unique games-themed event is hosted in a private area of the venue – The Loft, with a contemporary vibe, beautifully exposed brickwork, and our own private bar.
This is a doubles speed dating event, so be prepared to get to know other single people in an entertaining and interactive way as you move between tables playing new and nostalgic games in groups of four. Designed for social singles booking individually or with friends, you will be welcomed by our host at 19:15 and have the chance to grab a drink from the bar before we begin.
Ladies will be paired and seated comfortably on tables with various board games. These are selected to be short in duration (approximately 12-minutes) and great for helping you break the ice as you get to know your fellow players. Gents will be invited to rotate around the tables in pairs, playing a variety of entertaining games, having no shortage of laughs along the way.
There will be a half-time comfort break and lots of opportunity to mingle with others in this informal yet lively setting.
Post-event matching will be available on your It’s a Date dashboard where you could find you’re on a winning streak in love as well as in Jenga!
