Just moments from Liverpool Street and Aldgate stations, and at the foot of one of London’s most iconic landmarks — The Gherkin — you’ll find The Alchemist, Bevis Marks: a chic, stylish, open-plan cocktail bar buzzing with a lively atmosphere, a Cosmopolitan crowd (pun intended), and plenty of opportunities to connect with other fun, outgoing, like-minded guests during a series of fast-paced, free-flowing five-minute dates.

Our host will be at the venue from 19:15, ready to welcome you. Please arrive on time to register, enjoy an Alchemist classic from the bar (we recommend the Flash AF), and receive a brief overview of how the evening will run. You’ll then be given an optional name sticker, along with a pen and note card to help you keep track of who you meet.

Ladies will be seated at discreetly numbered tables, comfortably spaced within a dedicated area of the venue. Once speed dating begins, gents will join each table for a series of five-minute dates. At the end of each date, your host will signal when it’s time to move on, with gents rotating to the next table in ascending numerical order.

Between rotations, you’ll have a short moment to note your thoughts about the previous date and whether you’d like to reconnect — for your reference only.

Midway through the evening, there will be a 15-minute comfort break, giving you time to visit the bar, use the facilities, or continue chatting with new connections. Speed dating will then resume for the second half of the event.

Once the dating rounds conclude, the bar will remain open for further socialising. After the event, you can log in to your dashboard to leave feedback on your dates and await your matches.
