Night Hike (no headlamps) - Wissahickon Trails then Cheesesteaks

Parking will be near Delassandro's
It's all residential street parking - just find a spot*
(600 Wendover St Philly, near Walnut Lane)
Then meet outside Delassandro's
sunset is 7:51
moonrise is 4pm
we'll meet at 7:15, hiking by 7:25 so it'll get dark while we're hiking
our eyes will adjust to the dark
no headlamps on this hike - moonlight only
(bring a red light for tricky spots, but not to be used the whole time)
If you have to ask "why would we hike the trails in the dark with no lights?" then this probably isn't the event for you
The trails will be rocky, have tree branches and roots to walk over, have large step ups or downs, and maybe leaves. Proper hiking footwear is necessary.
No flipflops, sandals, tennis shoes, etc
But really the hike isn't too bad....I tend to pick routes that have a good amount of clear trail to walk
Unless you're really not a good hiker at all, most people have no problem doing these night hikes
Our hike will be about 6 miles depending on what trails I decide to do - stay tuned
Cheesesteaks - we'll start and end near Delassandros and we'll get back there in time to get some cheeseteaks before they close at 10
BRING CASH! They are cash only - there is an ATM there if you forget but it's best to plan ahead
Also, they do have beers there too for anyone that wants one
We'll plan to find an area near by to eat at
*parking recommendations:
turn onto Roxborough Ave from Henry Ave, then turn right onto Magdalena - there should be lots of street parking on Magdalena but drive down Magdalena until you get close to Jamestown or Wendover to grab a spot
Go around the block if you miss a spot the first time
Just remember to not block any driveways
