# CHESS CLUB
We host a Chess Club here at Its Your Move every Sunday from 2pm-6pm.
It is a casual atmosphere for players of all levels. We play here with and without a clock on tournament style boards. We ask for a $5 table fee which lasts for the whole day, you can pay in advance or at the door. Players are welcome to use our limited boards, (please bring your own clock and board if you have one . Food and drink is allowed.
We host a group chess lesson with Bob Gavrich, (see below), ahead of our club every Sunday from 1-2pm for $15. You can sign up ahead for this or drop in. All levels of play and all ages are welcomed!
About Bob, The Chess Master:
Bob Gavrich found chess at the age of 12 during the 1972 Fischer-Spassky world championship match. Over the next five years, he climbed to a master rating, topping out at around the #20-ranked junior in the country. He won the NJ Junior title twice. By age 20, he retired from tournament play, to focus on teaching the game and playing blitz.
He has been teaching chess for 45 years, and specializes in helping 1200-1600 players on the road to improvement. He starts with endgame play and what he calls the power of the pieces. He also has some special weapons for blitz and rapid that he is glad to share with students.
Bob is hosting our Sunday chess club from 2pm to 6pm, where your $5 fee for free play includes a 15 to 20-minute group micro-lesson from Bob.
He is available also for private lessons for individuals and small groups. He can be reached at 415-956-1721

Best for ages 6 through 16 for beginning and intermediate players. The class starts at 3:30 with early drop off starting at 1:45 and late pick up until 6pm. The cost is $25 for drop in, (or you can purchase a ten pack for $200 bring the single class down to $20.). Sign up in advance or drop in!
