Update: We will be painting a deck in Covington. Expect 2-3 hours of work and wear clothes that you are ok with being stained. Paint, brushes, latex gloves and other supplies will be on site when we arrive.

On June 8th we volunteered for People Working Cooperatively. We had 3 houses and the crews did such a great job that PWC has asked us to make this a monthly thing. We will try to make it the third Saturday of every month.

If you're not familiar with PWC, they help elderly and poor families do basic maintenance and minor home repairs. We provide the labor and some low level skills like painting a porch or replacing a handrail. PWC provides the materials, hand tools and whatever else.

A week before the event I will send them the list of how many people we have signed up and they will assign us house(s) based on our crew(s) size/skill. They may even send some PWC employees to oversee.

Michelle R, myself and two other volunteers will take turns directing/hosting this on the 3rd Saturday of every month. If you are interested in being a crew leader text me at 513-713-1358

Monthly director - That will be Michelle, myself and we need 2 other volunteers. You will coordinate directly with PWC and run between job sites on the day of

Crew Leader- Your biggest job is making the home owner feel safe and like they are being listened to so the rest of the crew can get it done. Occasionally the crew leader has to call me because the crew needs more paint or trash bags, things like that.

Crew- You paint, weed, drill, screw and clean up (that's what she said!)
Basic labor. I try to mix a few "handy" people into each crew just in case something unexpected comes up.

The most important skill is SHOWING UP. If you show up, we will find work that you are capable of.

If you no show on volunteering you are a horrible person who is going to be mauled in a Chic-Fil-A drive-thru by those crazy cows that do graffiti on billboards. They hate people who no show on low income seniors worse than they hate chickens.
