EXPERIENCE INDIAN DANCE & CULTURE

Participants will explore:

• Foundational Indian-inspired movement techniques
• Rhythm, musicality, and expression
• Storytelling through movement and theater
• Group choreography set to Indian music
• The cultural significance behind the movements

The workshop draws inspiration from Kathak, one of India’s great storytelling dance traditions, while incorporating movement, rhythm, theater, and self-expression in a way that is accessible to complete beginners.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR

The workshop will be led by Ruchi Lamba, an accomplished dancer, choreographer, theater director, speaker, and community leader with more than 20 years of experience in Indian dance and theater.

Ruchi is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Indian Dance Training Center (IDTC) in Orange County and has trained hundreds of students in dance, storytelling, stage presence, and performance. She has directed large-scale productions including Ramayana, Krishna Leela, and Shiva Parvati, bringing together performers of all ages and backgrounds.

Known for her energetic teaching style, humor, and ability to make beginners feel comfortable, Ruchi specializes in helping people discover confidence, creativity, expression, and joy through movement.
