#71 IXDA SVG Meetup: Design business that meets customer needs

Join us for our final meetup before the summer holidays!

We’re gathering at Okse's offices on Skagenkaien on Wednesday, June 18 at 19:00, for an evening of good vibes, cold drinks, and inspiring conversations. The theme for the night is business in design — how design can create value beyond aesthetics, and how designers can take a more strategic role in shaping products and organisations.

There will be free pizza and drinks for everyone, and plenty of time to mingle with fellow designers, strategists, and design-curious friends.

In this presentation, André Fangueiro explores how design can become a strategic driver of innovation and business value. By aligning customer-centric methodologies, design thinking, and business tools, André demonstrates how design transforms not just products but entire business models. Through real-world cases, the session highlights how designers can create meaningful value, bridge customer expectations, and scale innovation across organizations.

André Fangueiro brings over two decades of experience in design, product management, and business innovation, having worked with global brands across a wide range of industries. Originally from Porto, he began his journey studying Multimedia and Product Design, later earning a master’s degree in Design and Structures from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland.

In 2014, André founded Human-lab, a design and innovation consultancy. He was part of the team that won the prestigious iF Gold Award in 2017 for work with Canon, as well as an iF Award for Dolfi, a portable washing machine. His project for Invacare Medical was also featured at the TATE Museum in London in 2018.

Today, André leads design at Tietoevry, where he continues to push the boundaries of innovation—helping teams develop forward-thinking solutions that drive business value and deliver meaningful user experiences.
