#74 IXDA SVG Meetup: How to Make Innovation Happen + Redefining Ship Bridges
Details
Join us on 11. november for an evening of two talks on making innovation real and designing complex systems - from the culture and processes that bring ideas to life to redefining how ship bridges are designed.
Talk 1:
Most ideas die long before they see the light of day
It's not because they were bad – but because the culture or the process failed them.
In this talk, Mats will be honest about the two things that make or break innovation:
• Culture: Do people feel safe to speak up – or are they afraid to look foolish?
• Process: Do you have a structure that actually brings ideas to life – or do they get stuck along the way?
In 45 minutes , you’ll get:
• Practical ways to set up and run innovation processes that move things forward
• Concrete tools you can test with your team right away
• A sneak peek into Elleve’s innovation program
What to expect
Innovation in practice:
We’ll share real examples to inspire you – maybe even spark a few aha-moments and fresh perspectives on how innovation really happens.
You’ll walk away with hands-on tips and insights for working with innovation in your company or organization – no matter your industry.
Speaker: Mats Henriksen
Mats is an industrial designer and founder of Elleve. He has extensive experience developing concepts, brands, and solutions where design, strategy, and technology meet.
Talk 2:
Redefining how ship bridges are designed
In this talk Mikael Leppä will share the context and process his team used to achieve a new standard in ship bridge design, and challenge us all to let go of our preconceptions and expand our toolbox when new technology becomes available (no, it's not about AI this time).
Speaker: Mikael Leppä
Mikael is Head of Design at Equinor. Having worked in the field of Design for over 20 years, he has seen quite a few ways to apply our craft to complex problems.
Perhaps one of the most complex, but also the most rewarding, assignments was designing the bridge of a cruise ship at a former employer, and changing the way this work had been done for decades in the process.
Venue: Elleve's offices, Ryfklegata 9, 4014 Stavanger
Date: 11th October, 17:00
Food and drinks will be served (free, thanks to our partners). This meetup will be held in English.
