Talk 1: Fight for Your Right to Party

What happens when being good at design isn't enough? When the rules change, the decisions get political, and everything you thought you knew about being a designer is up for debate?

Through Lucas' personal journey, he’ll share the moments that challenged his views, shaped who he is today, and strengthened his belief that designers still have a vital role to play in the future.

Talk 2: Design as if You’re Right, Test as if You’re Wrong!

Most ideas fail because nobody wants them, not because the technology does not work. Yet we usually spend most of our time building the technology and the least time finding out whether we are building the right thing.

In this mini-workshop, you will get an introduction to the Testing Business Ideas framework by David Bland and Alexander Osterwalder. We will work together on a prepared case, giving you the opportunity to practise the method. Together, we will explore:

- how to turn assumptions into something you can test
- how to decide what to test first
- which experiments create the most learning with the least effort

The goal is for you to try a tool that may be useful in your own work.

The workshop is suitable for people working in product, design, or development, and for anyone wondering whether their idea is worth building.

Hanne Rentsch Ersdal is the CEO and co-founder of Aiga, and teaches responsible business design at the University of Stavanger. She has previously worked at Invetas and EGGS at Sopra Steria. In her day-to-day work, she helps professionals and technologists create products that people actually want. She believes in testing early, cheaply, and often.
