The mission of the Colorado Renewable Energy Society (CRES) is to lead Colorado to an energy efficient and renewable energy economy through education, policy advancement, and economic development.
The Jefferson County chapter of CRES serves all of Jefferson County in Colorado, including Golden and the Denver suburbs. JCRES works to increase awareness of the economic and environmental benefits of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. We host meetings and events to help members and the public connect with the ideas and people that make renewable energy and energy efficiency happen.

Save the Renewable Energy Mission of the Lab!
Jefferson Unitarian Church, 14350 W. 32nd Ave., 1 mi west of 32nd & Youngfield (Applewood), Golden, CO, USThe Trump regime’s assault against renewable energy and climate research has again escalated, cutting “Renewable Energy” out of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s name and attempting to eviscerate its mission and erase its half century of achievements.
Join us for this town hall and panel of speakers to save NREL’s crucial mission and to hold up its immense value to the region and the world. CRES often features researchers from NREL and countless members have a connection. In fact, our co-founder Dr. Ron Larson spearheaded legislation to create NREL’s predecessor, the Solar Energy Research Institute (SERI).
We have several knowledgeable presenters lined up but there will be ample time for comments and strategic ideas as we aim to start a grassroots solidarity campaign. We welcome private anonymous comments to jcres@cres-energy.org but let us know if it can be shared or read aloud.
