Mike Nelson – The Great American Super-Grid Project

Details
Confirmed.
In-person and live streaming
Mike Nelson recently retired as Denver7 Chief Meteorologist. He was one of the few weathermen courageous enough to insist that we must face the reality of climate change.
Mr Nelson speaks about the enormous prospects for a Great American Super-Grid capable of supplying the entire nation with ample, clean electricity. A high voltage underground transmission system would create a lot of jobs, improve reliability, address our growing power demand, and yield a tremendous return on investment, while simultaneously working towards urgent climate goals.
Organized by New Energy Colorado (NECO) and the Colorado Renewable Energy Society (CRES) as part of a series of talks ahead of the annual Metro Denver Green Home Tour which is Saturday, October 3, 2025.
Please plan to stay for a reception with food, drinks, and conversations afterwards. Free but you're welcome to put something in the basket.
Hybrid event, in-person and live streaming (the link will appear here).
Ample free parking right outside. Wheelchair accessible, and we have assisted listening devices.
Our 7pm start time is outside the busy traffic time and getting there is easy. We're about a mile west of the I-70 exit at Youngfield/32nd Ave (Applewood).
