Do We Have Free Will?

In this meeting we will be talking about free will. Do we have free will? What is it? Are we just a collection deterministic atoms and molecules in which case choice is only merely an illusion? Or is there something about us or the fundamental nature of the universe which allows for us to have some control over our circumstances?

Is free will necessary to make moral judgements, that is to hold people responsible for their actions? And if free will doesn't really exist, is there some other way to hold people accountable?
