Do We Have Free Will?

In this meeting we will be talking about free will. What does it mean to have free will or to make a choice? Are we nothing more than a collection of deterministic matter in which case choice is merely an illusion? Or is there something about us or the fundamental nature of the universe which allows for us to have some control over our circumstances?
