Let’s make friends while exploring Jakarta, dining out, taking leisure walks and any fun activities! We’ll try to keep the activities affordable, but we’ll allow ourselves to splurge sometimes :)
This group is open for visitors, newcomers, expatriates, long-term residents and any open minded individuals who are interested to make friends from various backgrounds.
There’s only one rule, RESPECT!!! Please respect others and try not say things that may make others uncomfortable. Read body language, when in doubt don’t say it. Keep in mind that things that are common in a culture may not be acceptable in other cultures. This is not a dating group, main purpose is to meet new friends, of course things may develop, but please don’t make others uncomfortable:)
About the organizer, I was born and raised in Jakarta, left Indonesia after high school. After bouncing around in various cities in US and Canada for school and work, I now call Victoria (Canada) my home base. Hiking, climbing, skiing & running as often as my schedule allows. Working from home 100%, I plan to spend more time in Jakarta to visit my aging mom. Haven’t been in Jakarta since pandemic and been away for many years, I need new friends and partner activities!
