Koto & Shamisen Concert in San Francisco on Sunday, July 27th

Details

The renowned Koto and Shamisen performer and teacher, Ms. Ko Ishikawa, and her students will be performing a concert in San Francisco on Sunday, July 27th, at 1:00 PM. The concert will be held at the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of San Francisco (JCCC-SF) in Japantown (1840 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA 94115). This would be a wonderful opportunity to visit the beautiful City-By-The-Bay on a lovely summer weekend.

For those unfamiliar, the Koto is a Japanese plucked half-tube zither and is recognized as the national instrument of Japan. The Shamisen is a traditional Japanese musical instrument with three strings.

Ms. Ishikawa offers private and semi-private lessons for both the Koto and the Shamisen at the Japanese Art & Cultural Center (JACC) in San Jose. To inquire or schedule a session with her, please email staff@jpnarts.org.
