One of the most prominent myths that are hard to kill about Microsoft Azure is that it only plays well with C# and dotnet. This is a myth I want to help to bust! Microsoft has heavily increased support for other languages over the last few years, and Java is one of them. In the recent releases of the unified Azure SDK, Java can use Azure services through its SDK just as much as C# can. In this talk, I will go through some basics of Azure SDK using Java and show how to use and deploy Java code to some PaaS and Serverless services that support Java. So let us have a look together at how Java can be used to create cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure. It might amaze you how much that does work out of the box with Java on Microsoft Azure!

Speaker bio - Karl Syvert Løland
Karl Løland er styremedlem i javaBin, og har vært interim leder av javaBin Sørlandet i noen år. Han har i de siste årene jobbet som Azure evangelist og holdt foredrag rundt om i skandinavia. Han er MCT sertifisert og holder en del kurs innen Microsoft Azure ved siden av sin daglige jobb.
