Change-data-capture with Debezium and Kafka (English) - Remi Guittaut
Plenty of use-cases warrant replicating data between systems, whether for auditing purposes, data analytics, Backup, migrations, etc. This was traditionally an inefficient burden, putting strain on databases, not real-time, etc. With change data capture, we can push change events in real time to Kafka, with near 0 impact on databases. As it turns out, it was in the database log all along, and gives us our data instantaneously, reliably, in order, and at scale.
