What we’re about
This Group has now got to the point where we are working on improving the standard of our performances, as well as gradually adding more songs and tunes to our setlists. We therefore now need a stable set of members who typically will come to all rehearsals.
In consequence we are now only interested in new players where:
- you are at least intermediate, preferably higher intermediate, standard
- if you are a good fit with the band then you'd be able to commit to fortnightly rehearsals, as well as practising your parts in between times
- preferably you can read music (not essential for singers) and have a good sense of rhythm
- you like the majority of the songs/tunes on our setlists
- you are happy attending fairly disciplined rehearsal sessions

The projected rehearsal schedule is once a month at Music Room London as in the past, targeting a Sunday when we'll be able to play a short performance afterwards in their bar, plus a second rehearsal each month (by separate invitation and for a stripped down band) at my place in Wimbledon.
The objectives of the band:
- to have a stable set of players & singers who get used to playing together well
- to play a range of styles, as per the Group name, and also some Middle Eastern style music
- to get up to gig standard (and keep getting better)
- to include songs with lead vocals & backing singers
- to include tunes which have harmonised horn section parts
- to help band members develop musically in whatever direction they want
- to have a good time whilst working on all the above
Rehearsals are 12-4pm monthly on Sun afternoons at Music Room London for full band, generally with a performance afterwards in their bar, 5-6pm; there are also stripped down rhythm section rehearsals in between times, based in Wimbledon.
