On Sunday 9 August, join us at Hotspot Hutspot Schieham for a relaxed afternoon of Mahjong, complete with authentic homemade Sichuan snacks throughout the event, followed by a traditional Sichuan dinner.

• 14:00 - 17:00 – Mahjong session (Beginner Workshop & Open Play)
• Throughout the event – Authentic homemade Sichuan snacks and drinks available to order.
• 17:00 - 19:00– Mahjong session ends and the optional authentic Sichuan dinner is served

🍜Authentic Sichuan Dinner
After the Mahjong session, you're invited to stay for an authentic homemade Sichuan dinner prepared by Xinyu, founder of Zhucook. Born and raised in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan, Xinyu has been sharing the rich flavors and culinary traditions of her hometown in the Netherlands since 2019.

For €12, you'll receive a bowl of 豌杂面 (Wanza Mian), a famous street food from Chongqing. It features chewy fresh noodles topped with a creamy mash of soft-boiled yellow peas and a savory minced pork sauce. The dish is mixed with a rich, spicy, and numbing sauce made from chili oil, Sichuan peppercorns, garlic, and scallions, creating one of the region's most iconic flavors. A vegetarian version will also be available.
Throughout the event, Xinyu will also prepare a selection of authentic homemade Sichuan snacks. These, along with drinks, can be ordered separately at the venue during the event.

📍Practical Information
Hotspot Hutspot is located in the center of Schiedam, approximately a 10-minute walk from Schiedam train station, making it easy to reach by train, metro, tram, or bus. If you're coming by bike, there is plenty of bicycle parking nearby. If you're arriving by car, we recommend parking at Garage Nieuwe Passage, where the first hour is free.

Welcome to Jiada Mahjong, a beginner-friendly place where you can learn Mahjong, play, and most importantly connect with people. Whether you’re completely new or already have experience, you can choose the session that matches your level and learn or play at your own pace.

On Sunday 16 August, join us at The Social Hub Rotterdam for a relaxed afternoon of Mahjong. Complete beginners can start with a short introduction before learning through play, while experienced players can join Open Play and jump straight into a game.

• Separate options for beginners and experienced players
• Hosts available to answer questions
• Tables organized by level and preferred Mahjong style whenever possible
• Drinks available for purchase at the bar
• A welcoming social atmosphere

☀️ If the weather is nice, we’ll play outside on The Social Hub’s terrace.

Whether you’re completely new or already play comfortably, this session is designed so everyone gets the right experience at the right table.

Beginner Introduction
New to Mahjong? You’ll start with a short introduction to the basic rules before joining a table. From there, you’ll learn mainly by playing, with our hosts available to answer questions. If you prefer structured, step-by-step guidance, we recommend joining one of our Beginner Workshops instead.

Open Play (Basic, Intermediate & Advanced)
Already familiar with Mahjong? You’ll be seated with players at a similar level and can jump straight into the game. Questions are welcome, but the focus is on playing rather than learning the fundamentals. We support several Mahjong styles, including Sichuan, Hong Kong and Riichi, and organize tables according to players’ preferences whenever possible.

On Saturday 22 August, join us at The Tea Lab in Rotterdam for a relaxed Mahjong brunch where you can learn, play and meet others around the table. Your ticket includes one drink and a mix of freshly prepared sandwich quarters to share and taste.

🥪Brunch
At around 12:00, we’ll serve the sandwiches in quarters on sharing platters, so you can try different flavours. Everyone receives the equivalent of one full sandwich. The sandwiches include:

• Grilled Veggies & Hummus - vegan
• Chicken & Avo
• Chilli Tempeh - vegan
• Tuna

Your ticket also includes one drink of your choice, such as tea, fresh herbal tea, coffee, iced tea, Chai latte, Matcha latte, lemonade, juice or a soft drink (see The Tea Lab menu- Smoothies and Coffee Specials not included)

The Tea Lab is easy to reach by public transport. Tram stop ’s-Gravendijkwal is directly across the street, while metro station Dijkzigt is only a few minutes away on foot. The venue is also easily accessible from Rotterdam Centraal by tram.
