Build & Learn: Crafting CLI Tools with Rust & Serde - Interactive Workshop

Join us for our first Rust Meetup of 2025! 🦀

After our year-end social in December, we're kicking off the year with a hands-on workshop where you'll learn by doing. Whether you're just starting with Rust or already building projects, there's something for everyone.

🔧 Workshop Format:

1. 18:00-18:30 - Arrival & Networking Join us for refreshments and connect with developers from various tech communities
2. 18:30-19:15 - Interactive CLI Workshop We'll build a practical CLI tool together, covering:

• Rust fundamentals in action
• Working with JSON using serde
• Error handling best practices
• Real-world project structure

3. 19:15-19:45 - Group Challenge Session Team up with fellow Rustaceans to solve interesting problems at your comfort level
4. 19:45-20:00 - Community Showcase & Future Planning

🔍 Who Should Attend:

• Complete beginners curious about Rust
• Developers with some Rust experience wanting to level up
• Experienced Rustaceans willing to share their knowledge

🛠️ Setup Instructions:

• Your laptop with Rust installed
• Recommended IDE setup:
• VS Code: Install the "Rust Extension Pack"
• Alternative: JetBrains Rust Rover
• Any other IDE with LSP support will work well with rust-analyzer (which is installed with Rust)

If you need help with installation, arrive a bit early and we'll assist you!
