About us

What's growing on Charleston? Are you interested in growing vegetables, medicinal herbs, food forests, edible landscapes, herbal tea gardens, Permaculture, foraging, and creating abundance in the garden? Then the best growing experience is awaiting you.

One of the things that makes the Charleston area so incredibly unique is the range of edible food our climate can grow. From sub-tropical fruits such as cold-hardy avocados, citrus, pineapple guavas, and loquats that can handle our cold winters to their northern brothers such as apples, pears, and berries and everything in between. Our climate offers opportunities to grow delicious and healthy food year round from the hottest days of summer to the coldest days in winter.

Each month, we'll talk about what vegetables to start from seed and harvest. There will be presentations on plant and fruit tree propagation.
Tri-annual plant and cutting swaps are planned so your outdoor oasis is plant diverse.

We may plan nursery visits, field trips, visit fruit festival, and outdoor workshops.

Let's face it, we live in one of the most gorgeous places in the country as well as food diverse. Let's cultivate together, cross pollinate ideas, experiences, successes, and failures. And of course grow a resilient community!

Whether you're a beginner or seasoned gardener, come and connect with like-minded edible food enthusiasts and discover ways to turn your space, both small or large, into a beautiful, productive edible landscape.
