McKittrick Canyon has been described as the "most beautiful spot in Texas" and in late October the fall colors should be spectacular. What I have I mind is a 6.8 mile out and back to what is called the Grotto. This is an easy hike with good trails little elevation change and great photo ops.
This should be a great hike for a turn around point picnic. Hopefully no rain gear or change of shoes will be necessary.
For the Las Cruces folks the meeting place is the Pan Am Parking lot and I was thinking about meeting up with the El Paso folks somewhere around Montana and 375 so I'm open for suggestions.
