Organ Peak

Very roughly, the hike is about 10 miles, 4000' elevation gain. Very hard hike. The view on the Peak is exceptional.

We haven't done this whole hike for a few months now, it would be expected a bit over grown. So, please wear long pants, and relatively high boots if applicable.

And also, make sure you got good knees, strong legs, and no kidding, a brave heart. Those are what it takes to do this hike.

Bring at least 5 liters of drinking water.

Meet us 0730 at Milagro Coffee, or 0800 at La Cueva picnic area parking lot of Dripping Springs State Park.

Sorry, but I have to cancel. I'm not gonna make tomorrow morning, sadly. I'll see you guys next week: I wanna maybe try GRANITE PEAK which would use most of this approach. We'll talk. Have fun!

Hey Ryan, because you signed up, I decided there was no excuse for me not to bring sweet peppers. So, I ran to the store to get them specifically!

Yubao, I owe you one. I bought sweet peppers for the hike too. Man, we need to hike together soon.

Yubao, I'm not sure if you remember me, but we've met two times on the Needle trail (and then at High Desert after the second time, in February). I've intended to do Organ Peak for some time, but I've been hesitant to try it without someone who knows the route, so I'd love to join if that would be all right. I might bring a plus-one (or more), but I'll be sure anyone who joins me is fit, capable, and properly equipped.

    Thanks!

    Trey

Looks like I'll be bringing just one more person. We'll plan on meeting you at La Cueva at 8:00. We will most likely be in my old blue 4Runner.

It's a 3 day weekend -- you'll have Monday to recover (if you need it). It's perfect for this weekend!

I'd love to join, but I am out of town this weekend.. What do I need if I were to try it myself next weekend?

Like I commented before, personally I do not encourage anybody to try Organ Peak by themselves, unless you have a GPS track on your gadget of some kind that you can follow.

I'll be in the Gila—can someone take clippers and clip the overgrown parts of the trail?
