This is a cross posting of Alamogordo Tails event: hosted by Michal. Out of proper etiquette, please go on and sign up at the website so the host will be able to better tally headcounts and prepare to lead the hike accordingly.

This is considered one of the best canyon/ridge hike combinations in the Alamogordo area. Amazing rock formation on both sides of the canyon, smooth, washed-out sheer rock bed, gigantic boulders. Though I have been to this canyon quite a few times, every time I revisit it, it amazes me anew: the wonder of Nature. You can checkout some photos of previous ventures of this hike like:[masked].

This is a fun canyoneering adventure with a mixed bag of minor scrambling, minor climbing, steep grades and some off trail traverse after we climbed to the end of the canyon. It's an 11 mile hike with 3000' of elevation gain.

This is not an easy hike, and you have to be in pretty good shape to do it. That said, as difficult level goes, if you have had some of the Organ hikes like Shark's Tooth under your belt, this will make a much fun outing, very enjoyable.

As Michal stated in his original posting, the group will take a leisurely pace, enjoy nature, enjoy the day, enjoy each and every others' company.

For carpooling from Las Cruces, meet at Kmart at Telshor (by Shell) at 6:30am. Questions or concerns call (no text) Mike[masked]
