Indian Hollow Trail is the little-known trail at Aguirre Springs. While it has official BLM trail markers, it is not otherwise maintained by them. The well-trod part of this trail will take you to the base of Sugarloaf Peak; if you continue, it turns into a hearty bushwhack up and over the ridge line.
The plan for this hike is to stay on the well-trod portion, going out and back as far as the group feels comfortable. Please plan for 5–6 mi, bring WATER (it's sad I need to remind people), appropriate footwear (boots; please leave the sandals at home), etc.
We're starting this hike at a relatively late 9 am—if you've been complaining about hikes being too early, then stop complaining and come to this one!
DISTANCE is ~5–6 mi out and back (you can turn around at your option), possibly further if people are up to it.
ELEVATION GAIN is ~1000–1500 ft gained.
FEES: $5/vehicle, paid at the trailhead If you have a Federal Lands Pass, please bring them; they are accepted here.
DURATION: Finish by early afternoon.
PET FRIENDLY? Yes. Bring a muzzle (you shouldn't need be told to bring a proper leash), and if you'd like to unleash, ask others before you do so.
SKILL LEVEL is *NOT* beginner friendly. No whiners! But if you're new to hiking you can handle it.
TERRAIN is relatively well-maintained dirt and gravel trail. There may be some wash-outs from the heavy rains of the past summer.
WEATHER is TBA.
AFTERWARDS is TBA.
