frozen waterfall

  • Dec 5, 2010 · 9:00 AM

Sorry this took so long... Im old lazy and tired... I didnt personally feel like going too far, so I thought I'd post an easy close one. Lets meet at the Pan Am at 9 sunday and hear up to bar (soledad) canyon (alt meet there at 930) to see if theres any ice or water in the waterfall at the end of the trail. We might be able to explore around the area a bit.

Was a good way to start the day. A bit easier then what I'm looking for, but at the same time I know there are people of all ages and abilities that got to join in and we got done early enough for those of us that wanted to do more to be able to get in some extra miles on nearby trails. I still enjoyed being able to get to meet some new people and see new places. Looking forward to the next one no matter how easy or difficult.

Doing a Soledad Canyon-Achenbach Canyon loop would be a good 8 mi hike. Though, the inner part of the trail is trespassing onto Fort Bliss. I've done it before: http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=usqhmtrweubbabwe. Is anyone up for going into DEEP Soledad Canyon? There are some abandoned homesteads/ranches up there.
