Bishop's Cap is the small set of mountains between Las Cruces' Organ Mountains and El Paso's Franklin Mountains. When passing by exit 151 (Mesquite) on Interstate 10, Bishop's Cap the terraced-looking mountain directly to the east. We'll be hiking to the top.

DISTANCE is ~5 mi, round-trip
ELEVATION GAIN is ~1000 ft gained.
FEES: None. Of course, if you carpool, please compensate your driver for gas!
DURATION: Finish by mid to late afternoon.
PET FRIENDLY? Somewhat. The terrain is rough, and if your pet is not used to walking over desert brush and harsh volcanic rock, please leave her at home Bring a muzzle (you shouldn't need be told to bring a proper leash), and if you'd like to unleash, ask others before you do so.
SKILL LEVEL is *NOT* beginner friendly. No whiners!
TERRAIN is off-trail in low-desert brush (cacti, octotillo, etc) on loose, sandy, and pointy rocks.

• Mesquite: 7:40 am, I-10 exit 151 on the east side of the free way. From here, we will go to the Sierra Vista Trail Mossman Arroyo Trailhead.
