I did Carrizo Peak at the end of November, and I want to hike the trail across from where I started. This is Goat Springs and maybe Tucson Mountain. These are trails, but I have never done them, and the USFS does not provided much help in describing them. Basically, I know they are there, and not much else. I can tell you that this will be exploratory and might be somewhat a bust. If I don't get enough from the first TH, I'll explore to the second one accessed from the east. The main trailhead is just north and accessed from US 380, east of Carrizozo. I want to leave Alamo around 0930. This is a cross-post on to the Las Cruces site. I will not be driving from Cruces, you will need transport to at least Alamo. FYI, higher clearance is necessary to make it all the way, but you can ride with me. http://hikearizona.com/decoder.php?ZTN=19086
Those links are for Carrizo Peak, and my pictures from that hike. I do not plan to hike that this time.
