We'll be hiking up the Indian Hollow Trail, past the junction for Sugarloaf Peak, and then start hiking up a canyon slightly to the west of Sugarloaf Peak. We'll hike along the ridge and come back down the canyon to meet the Indian Hollow Trail and back to the cars.
We won't actually climb Sugar Loaf Peak (climbing equipment is required), but we will end up at the top of the peak.
DISTANCE is ~6 mi round-trip.
ELEVATION GAIN is ~1500 ft gained.
FEES: $5/vehicle, paid at the trailhead. Cash only! If you have a Federal Lands Pass, please bring them; they are accepted here.
DURATION: Finish by mid to late afternoon.
PET FRIENDLY? Yes. Bring a muzzle (you shouldn't need be told to bring a proper leash), and if you'd like to unleash, ask others before you do so.
SKILL LEVEL is *NOT* beginner friendly. No whiners!
TERRAIN not-maintained trail, up a granite-floored canyon w/ a lot of loose rocks, boulders, etc. We will be off-trail.
WEATHER is TBA.
AFTERWARDS we may get lunch somewhere.
