This hike is about 6 to 7 miles total distance, with about 3000 feet of climbing, and it takes about 8 or 9 hours.
This hike combines three hikes together, Big Ice, Little Ice, and Big Baldy. Any one of these three hikes is challenging enough, the combination definitely will not make it easier.
It is with a lot of exposed steep climbing, both in bedrock canyons, and loose scree heading toward the ridge. Comes to climbing and scrambling, it is right up there with the Organ Needle hike. This hike poses the double whammy of both physical and psychological challenges. The hike is amazingly beautiful, still, the effort and skills involved should make hikers take pause and rethink.
Experienced hikers only.
