Soledad Canyon

Whether you call yourself a hiker or not, most likely, you have been to the waterfall in the Soledad Canyon/Bar Canyon day use area.

This is an easy hike that most hikers can handle.

The weather forecast says it's going to be sunny. So, no worries about getting rained on. That's the up side of the desert, which you can count on most of the time.

Bring at least 3 liters of water, sunscreen, hat, and snacks.

DISTANCE is about 4 mi. round-trip


FEES: None. Of course, if you carpool, please compensate your driver for gas!

DURATION: Finish by late morning.

PET FRIENDLY? Yes. Bring a muzzle (you shouldn't need be told to bring a proper leash), and if you'd like to unleash, ask others before you do so.

SKILL LEVEL is beginner/intermediate.

TERRAIN maintained trail.

WEATHER is sunny and hot. It is going to be in the higher 90s as high. So, bring plenty of drinking water

AFTERWARDS LUNCH with alcohol to wash it down? Anyone?

    Our fearless leader, Steve, did a fantastic job. Scenery was incredible...fellow hikers super nice...note to self: don't wear red shirt ever again....all winged creatures thought I was a flower...was "dive bombed" the whole hike!:). At least it kept the rest of the group laughing!!
