Weekend set, times & further details TBA. Let's plan to leave lunchtime on Friday so can start hiking Saturday morning.
Backpacking trip up to Wheeler Peak taking an east approach, coming up from Red River (as opposed to Taos Ski Valley, which is how we've usually done this).
Tentative plan is to start in Red River, hike up to Lost Lake, and depending how we feel, hike over to Horseshoe Lake, and setup camp. Sunday morning we'll summit Wheeler (without packs), return to the lake and get our packs, and then come back down the (shorter) Horseshoe Lake Trail back to Red River. Total mileage is on the order of 15 mi.
