Organ Peak

This is a Celebration of Our Mountains event.

Very roughly, the hike is about 10 miles, 4000' elevation gain. Very hard hike. It takes about 9 hours. The view on the Peak is exceptional.

Though there is a trail, it could be overgrown. So, long pants are strongly recommended, and relatively high boots if applicable.

And also, make sure you got good knees, strong legs, and no kidding, a brave heart. Those are what it takes to do this hike.

Bring at least 5 liters of drinking water.

Meet us 0730 at Milagro Coffee, or 0800 at La Cueva picnic area parking lot of Dripping Springs.

WOW this was worth every step. As I commented on a photograph, we waded through wild flowers. This was my first time.

It was a long day, 11 hours and half. The 13th time for me to go up there, it's still worth the effort.

I'm new to your group, are you arriving the night before and staying the night or just arriving in the morning and hiking away?
