3rd Saturday Canyon Series: Progressive!

March:  8am at Firestation on East end of Tenth Street in Alamogordo...

This will be a much longer day... 8-10 hours?

This is all off Trail... Class II Canyoneering... there are numerous opportunities for some full body scrambles... but there are alternative routes around the harder climbs...

Bring lots of food and fluid...

We will take our time and enjoy this very nice canyon...

For those that like Peak Bagging... you can divert and score Hershberger Peak!!

[masked]-8898....575-[masked] (text)  call if you are running late!!

Cross Post with Alamogordo Trails...

We have dedicated the Third Saturday each month for the next six months for a series of Alamogordo Canyon hikes to both enjoy the Cuts... and to allow folks to work their way up to a level where they can enjoy the more demanding hikes, culminating in the final Adventure: Marble Canyon South.

Class I and Class II Canyoneering... Off Trail... Not for Beginners (...unless they do the entire series start to finish?!!

We tend to start on time... call if you are running late!

October: Ortega South (lower/middle)... Leah's Lair...
November: Marble: Staircase... Surprise... Quarry?
December: Marble: Slab... Spur
January: Ortega North... Yubao's Cut... Jim's Cut
February: Mule Canyon!
March: Marble South... Hershberger peak!!!
April: ?????

8am start to allow El Paso and Las Cruces hikers to commute over...

Since this is a cross posting of Alamogordo Trails, it would be a nice gesture to sign up for the event at Alamogordo Trails, if you happen to be a member of both groups. That way, it's easier for the organizer to tally the attendance.

this is a longer day... might be a bit rough on most dogs, but it is not as challenging as some of the routes we've had Jody's dogs on.
