It's Christmas! Perfect time to hike to the top of that big mountain you see on the west side of town. We haven't climbed it very often this year.
We'll hike to the top, and come back down the other (north) side. From there we'll either take Box Canyon (west side) or loop around the east side back to our vehicles.
We need high ground clearance and/or 4WD/AWD vehicles for this hike, so if you're able to provide please leave a comment so we can start coordinating carpool!
Please drink adequate water and a snack.
DISTANCE is is ~6 mi round-trip
ELEVATION GAIN is ~1000 ft gained.
FEES: None. Of course, if you carpool, please compensate your driver for gas!
DURATION: Finish by late early/late afternoon.
PET FRIENDLY? Yes. Bring a muzzle (you shouldn't need be told to bring a proper leash), and if you'd like to unleash, ask others before you do so.
SKILL LEVEL is reasonably beginner friendly, low-end of intermediate.
TERRAIN rocky, but established trail.
WEATHER is TBA. Clear at this point.
AFTERWARDS is TBA. Is anything open on Christmas?
