The Southwest Environmental Center is hosting author Doug Scott, who will be presenting a slideshow on slot canyons and waterfalls in NM. I am planning on attending and hope to see other members of the Jornada hiking club there.
From the SWEC facebook page:
The Southwest Environmental Center is pleased to welcome Doug Scott of Taos to Las Cruces where he will give a slideshow presentation on Tuesday, February 10th, at 7 pm about the waterfalls and slot canyons of New Mexico. Scott will share his years of experience adventuring around New Mexico as well as his spectacular photographs of some of the state’s greatest natural treasures.
As the first commercial whitewater outfitter in New Mexico, Doug Scott has firsthand knowledge of the adventure and beauty the Land of Enchantment holds. He has paid particular interest to the slot canyons and waterfalls of New Mexico, publishing several books on the latter topic. Scott’s published works will be available for purchase and signing at the event.
The presentation is free and open to the public. The Southwest Environmental Center is located at 275 N. Main in downtown Las Cruces. For more information, call (575)[masked].
Afterwards we can go for something social (drinks, food, ice cream?), if people are interested.
