Tonuco Mountain

What:   Hiking to the top of Tonuco Mountain

THIS HIKE IS DOG FRIENDY

Difficulty:  moderate
Length:  6 miles
Type:  off trail, it will be a loop hike
Hiking time:  5-6 hours
Bring:  Plenty of water, snacks, sunblock, hat, Sack Lunch to eat on top

Other:  We will see a stunning canyon with colorful rocks, an old mining area, and a superb view from the top of  the mountain.
This hike is described in Greg Magee's book Day Hikes and Nature Walks in the El Paso-Las Cruces Area.

This hike is off trail, bring good boots and trekking poles. The weather will be hot this Saturday (80 °F), so also bring more than enough water and sunblock. Lots of interesting rocks, .
